For this project, Oriel Traditional Music Archive have invited renowned musicians Gerry O’Connor (fiddle), Nuala Kennedy (flute and voice) and Eilís Lavelle (harp) to delve into the archival material within OTMA and curate a programme of music which showcases the music of Oriel from the 19th and 20th centuries. As well as the better-known Donnellan and McGahon Collections, they will bring to our ears lesser-known material from Mary Ann Carolan, Séan O’Boyle, the McArdle brothers and Lizzie O’Brien among others to demonstrate the particular influences and features of music from this historic area.
